Working in Partnership
To enhance our delivery of services we work in partnership with a range of providers both formally and informally. Below find further details of those partnerships.
National Lottery Community Fund
NECA achieving The National Lottery Community Fund funding is a fantastic achievement.
Providing NECA with significant opportunity to keep developing the Community Garden even further and allowing us to continue to provide free activities for the local community as much as we can.
NHS England
NECA has successfully secured new funding from NHS England in the support and treatment of gambling-related harms.
This provides NECA with significant opportunity to continue to provide free gambling related harms support service across the North East and Yorkshire & Humber regions. Furthermore, the initiative expands NECA’s reach by introducing specialist young people practitioners, enabling dedicated care for individuals aged 16 and older.
OHID
NECA has achieved funding though the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID) in the Department of Health and Social Care, who are managing the funding to support VCSE sector organisations to prevent gambling-related harms.
Through this funding we are able to continue our Empowering Youth Programme, providing preventative education to young people and professionals and extending this into the Yorkshire & Humber region.
Further preventative programmes also include extensive community engagement in local areas, including collaborating with local organisations to spread awareness of gambling related harms, alongside the the roll-out of specialist gambling awareness training and qualifications.
Links for Life Sunderland
NECA is delighted to be working in partnership with Links for Life Sunderland and Sunderland City Council on their latest Stop Smoking Initiative.
This programme is available to anyone working or living in Sunderland.
“Health is more than what happens in hospitals and doctors surgeries. It is shaped by where we live, the people around us, and the communities we belong to. Links for Life Sunderland helps people live their best life by building healthy, happy communities. We connect people to information, local services and support so everyone can feel included and improve their health and wellbeing.”
Sunderland City Council
NECA have recently collaborated with Sunderland City Council on producing 3 videos for their primary care network. The videos are aimed at raising awareness for gambling related harms, including that of affected others and young people.
NECA are also facilitating gambling related harm awareness training as part of the Making Every Contact Count (MECC) in Sunderland. MECC empowers staff and volunteers to use daily interactions to support health and wellbeing behavior changes
