Volunteering
NECA promotes and encourages the participation of volunteers in all areas of our work. We recognise the different but equally valuable contribution of volunteers in complementing the work of our employees.
Volunteering with NECA
Volunteering with NECA can be greatly rewarding. Our volunteers give their time and effort in various ways to help make a difference within the community.
All NECA volunteers can expect fair and equal treatment including payment of travel expenses, access to all relevant policies and procedures and involvement in a variety of the decision-making bodies and processes.
You can have fun whilst learning new skills and supporting the local community. No matter how much time and whether or not your experienced, we have volunteering roles for you!
We believe that an investment should be made in our Volunteers in terms of their personal development. To this end we will provide regular and on-going support, supervision and training to enable Volunteers to enhance their volunteering work and to provide employment opportunities in the wider community.

We asked some of our volunteers to describe their volunteering experience in 3 words, this video highlights what they had to say;

Queen's Award for Voluntary Service
Due to the commitment and achievements of our volunteers, in 2021 we were nominated, by members of the local community, and awarded The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.
Created in 2002 for the Queen’s Golden Jubilee, QAVS awards have been shining a light on the fantastic work of voluntary groups for many years. Equivalent to an MBE, QAVS are the highest awards given to local voluntary groups in the UK, and they are awarded for life.
