NECA, in partnership with GamCare provides a range of FREE support for Gamblers, as well as friends and family who are affected.

We provide a range of short and longer term treatment options either over the phone or face-to-face across the North East and North Yorkshire.

NECA GAMBLING SERVICES DURING THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC

NECA Gambling service support is still available throughout the Lockdown period; We’re just a call or message away.

We know the current situation is worrying for many, and this may make it harder for some people to resist urges to gamble. Gambling is not a way to improve finances, or to cope with difficulties. We’re here if you need support.

GamCare has a range of self-help resources you can use to change your relationship with gambling, even in isolation.  Make a start, by working through the GamCare Self-Help Workbook, at your own pace.

NECA is delighted to be working in partnership with Gamcare and the NHS Northern Gambling Service to provide integrated support services to anyone experiencing gambling harms across Leeds and the surrounding area.

The Leeds Community Gambling Service offers a range of support which can be provided face-to-face, online or over the phone. We can support gamblers as well as those who are affected by the gambling behaviour of a family member or friend.

All of our services are free of charge and completely confidential.

Our Education & Training Leads provide free of charge gambling awareness workshops across the North East of England directly to young people, as well as free CPD accredited training for youth professionals in their local areas.

We provide materials and screening tools to assist local youth services and teachers in identifying young people at risk.

We provide support for people who are vulnerable to or experiencing gambling-related harm.

Through the Gamcare Education & Training Programme, BigDeal we aim to:

  • Enable young people to access honest, accurate and relevant information about gambling and problematic gambling;
  • Enable young people to make informed choices about gambling;
  • Ensure professionals are aware of the impacts, signs and symptoms of a gambling problem;
  • Enable professionals to interact with young people sensitively about problem gambling;
  • Ensure that young people and professionals know where to go for free, specialist help and support if they need it.
